Not many people think starlings are treasures, but we’ve been enjoying watching this little guy and his mate build a nest, and now finally sit on it. And they sing so sweetly.

Rich in rainbows! That does sound good. This was an amazing one – you could see the entire bow from one horizon to the next. What a wonderful phenomenon!
What an amazing photo!
Starlings are beautiful, their feathers are like rainbows themselves. I just wish they weren’t so destructive. They are not native to my area and, like so many “introduced” things, they have taken over…
Hope all is well with you Heather.

They are beutiful birds and when the light shines on thier feathers the blues/greens and shine are beautiful. If you really look hard you can fine beauty in anything. My 5year old calls them darlings!

Oh, my gosh! I love this picture. Watching birds in your own yard is amazing. We love to see who shows up in ours and what they’re doing.

Perfectly composed photography, it’s almost as if you asked him to go and pose there.
They do sing so joyously, it’s hard not to smile when they’re around!
