For the past month or so, I’ve been taking heaps of photos for my Rough Cuts fabric collection, and have had to sit on my hands to stop myself from sharing the pics. They are gorgeous! But I’m being good, and keeping them under wraps until the press launch on 5 March.

But for now, I can give you a bit of a peek into what’s been going on behind the scenes. I’ve been putting together my pics with these beautiful baskets and vessels from Design Afrika to underline the African roots of an otherwise Scandi-inspired range. When we finally launch Rough Cuts next week, keep an eye out for these beauts in my promo shots, all of which (and more) will also be available for sale in the Skinny laMinx shop shortly.

If you’re in town for the Design Indaba Expo this coming weekend, be sure to visit the Design Afrika stand at J106. Binky Newman is a genius at sourcing, designing and and eliciting the most gorgeous work from all over Africa, and I’m looking forward to telling you more about how Design Afrika and Skinny laMinx have been inspiring one another lately.
