    Zakka Show & First Thursdays

    30 Sep 2013

*Zak’ka (from the Japanese) has been described as ‘the art of seeing the savvy in the ordinary and mundane’, & refers to objects that improve your home, life and appearance. The interest in Scandinavian design forms part of the Zakka movement, and can include contemporary handcrafts too.

I’ve just got back from a trip to Tokyo (read all about it here), where I had great fun buying lots of wonderful design and cute objects to sell on a Zakka* Show in my shop in Cape Town this Thursday evening.

Alongside things from Japan, we’ll also have copies of Kinfolk magazine, stoneware by Steve Shapiro, and some zakka from Skinny laMinx too.

Join the First Thursdays movement this week, 03 October, and stay in town after 5pm to visit galleries, shops and restaurants in Cape Town who specially stay open late every first Thursday of every month.

Visit the First Thursdays website and Facebook page to see who else is staying open late this Thursday evening.
