India with Expedition Curiosity

Bev Missing is the founder of body and bath product company Rain Africa,  and is now the organising force behind Expedition Curiosity – her travel company specialising in immersive and authentic journeys to lesser-known places.

Bev loves travel, but can’t bear the usual tourist packaged experience, so her mission with Expedition Curiosity is to travel with small groups, showing them places and details that she knows, creating unforgettable experiences as she shows you the back roads, the real life and the heartbeat of a place.

We’re excited to let you know that Bev and Skinny laMinx have teamed up on a textiles and culture trip to Rajasthan in India to take place in April 2020 and we’d love you to come.

Join us from 7-15 April 2020 as we go on an adventure to India, to learn the arts of creating patterns, ancient blockprinting, mud resist and fabric dyeing with natural plant materials, as well as visiting the palaces, forts and exotic markets in the fascinating province of Rajasthan.

We will learn about pattern and print in styles ancient and modern, spending time with a family business that specialises in traditional woodblock printing and natural dyeing, and getting our hands dirty as we try their ancient techniques ourselves, as well as experiencing Heather’s instruction on how to create and generate patterns yourself, using techniques you can take back home with you.

Prepare to have your understanding of pattern and textiles radically enriched, and to have your eyes opened to a world of design riches.
