See Saw Do
Have you heard of See-Saw-Do? I just want to tell everyone about this simply delightful husband-and-wife social entrepreneur team, who use colour and cuteness to improve the lives and educational opportunities of kiddies all over the Western Cape.
Over the past month the See-Saw-Do team has been hard at work inside the Grade R classrooms at Eldene Primary, scraping, sanding, priming, bonding, cutting, fixing etc in preparation for Mandela Day. The makeovers, sponsored by Maersk Group and Mediclinic Southern Africa were very extensive (the classrooms were pretty dire), and here are some work in progress pics:
Recently, we donated a lot of our seconds fabric and end-of-range cushion covers to See-Saw-Do, and we can not think of a better use for them than these adorable classroom aprons they made for the kiddies at Eldene to wear.
For the full impact of this fantastic project, take a look at this video, where the kids enter their utterly transformed classrooms on the first day of the third term today.
No doubt, Nelson Mandela would approve.
PS: More news about See-Saw-Do coming up soon. In the meantime, find them on Facebook for lots more pics and inspiration.
