    Ndiyazikhupha!

    9 Oct 2009

I’ve been cutting cloud shapes as I plot my escape: Next week has been marked out as a week of no blogging, no tweeting, no emails, and my shop will be in vacation mode too. All this is in order to give myself a week of thinking and planning, designing and plotting, with breaks for tea, coffee dates, yoga, and the occasional nap. I’m so excited to be taking this sabbatical, and am grateful to the awesome Molly (who helps me out around here) for giving me this brilliant idea by carving out a week-long escape of her own.

So, in the words of today’s incredibly well-timed Xhosa tweet from Xhosafundis: Ndiyazikhupha, which means, “I’m taking myself out!”

Oh, and my cutout below is called, appropriately enough, “Escape”.

    See you all soon!

Enjoy your self-proclaimed and designed retreat! It sounds perfect! You are so smart to do that…it is so important to break from the chaos…to get to the real work

OKAY. I have this couch you will LOVE. I think it would be super super awesome inspiration for the towels you make! Sorry I know its kind of random but I was looking at your towels today and it somehow clicked. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you an email of the picture (I don't want to creep on you by automatically doing it)xo!Jillian
