World Cup Feva!
It’s really going *m*e*n*t*a*l* around here as the Soccer World Cup kicks off. Lots of funny hats, enormous glasses, cheesy grins, and flags, flags, flags. I’ve never seen so much enthusiasm for our flag coming from just about absolutely everyone, including me, who has one fluttering from my little van. I’ve been trying to take some snaps of the madness in the Cape Town streets, but my crowd pics a’re dreadful, so here’s a nice tasteful one of a flag-toting Lambretta. Go Bafana-Bafana!

Isn’t the atmosphere fantastic? We’re lucky enough to be heading to the game this evening, but actually working in the vicinity of Greenmarket square is the best for soaking up the spirit!

Ja, it’s heaps of fun. I’ve kind of given up on making any meaningful contribution to my own productivity today. It’s all too exciting! Have fun at the match, lucky thing. xx

I bet it it’s crazy. I keep thinking of you every time it’s reported on the news. Am in love with the pics I am seeing of your city. So good. Will be there in 2013. Am travelling with a friend who turns 50 that year. It’s going to be her thing – to travel home from Aus with Aussie friends. Lovely idea, don’t you think?

Great plan to come here in 2013! If I act on the way I’m feeling now, I might well be living in NYC (she dreams…), but if I’m here, I’d love to meetcha! Start putting those pennies in your piggy bank. xx

I hope the world cup is great for SA. It’s certainly great for anyone with anything to do with beer here in the UK. Lots of match prep going on yesterday as plenty of men walking around carrying boxes of beer. Sadly they would have been using it to drown their sorrows last night me thinks.

Hmm, yes, beer is being consumed in great quantities here too. I’m sticking to wine.. or even a glass of bubbly or two, if our team keeps doing better than expected! xx
