    Papercutting

    8 Apr 2011

I can’t tell you how excited I was to get this new publication from Chronicle Books. Papercutting: Contemporary Artists, Timeless Craft is an absolute treasure if you are at all interested in mad papercutting skillz. It’s filled with beautiful pics of work familiar to me, like that of Rob Ryan, Peter Callesen, Helen Musselwhite, Elsa Mora (who did the cover) and also loads of new discoveries, like Justine Smith and Casey Ruble. Thrilling stuff. 4 Publications - Papercutting Of course, what’s even more thrilling was to turn the book over and to see that one of my papercuts made it onto the back cover… … and thrill upon thrill, when I opened the book, I discovered that the inside cover flaps had been die cut with my designs. Just to have my work included on the same pages as all these brilliant folks has had me sharpening my knives once again, making sure to make time for cutting paper. Thanks so much to author Laura Heyenga and to Chronicle Books for thinking of my work when putting this awesome book together. Buy yourself a copy right here.

Heather, they have selected some fabulous cut-outs from your portfolio, but I think they missed the best (I must assume they haven’t seen them) namely the Plascon colour swatches! Congratulations, well done. XX Anon Admirer

Congratulations on making the book cover! The flowers would be so pretty in appliques. Of course, Michelle at Cloud 9 had a birthday, and on her blog sent me over to yours to wish her Happy Birthday. The Cut Out & Keep Giveaway is lovely – especially the way your paper designs translate so well to fabric. Please enter me into the drawing.
