20 Days of HappyThanks #2: Waza Shop

WAZA was started in 2015 by Botha and Hilda Kruger – a husband and wife team with a big love for Japan – as a specialist purveyor of quality Japanese household goods in South Africa. If you came to the WAZA pop up shop we had in our fabric studio in June this year, you’ll already be a fan of the beautifully-made household items that they bring in.
What makes their business extra-special is that Botha and Hilda work directly with Japanese business partners and family businesses to source and import their goods, which means that they have an intimate knowledge of who made each item, and how it was made. That’s next-level shopping for you, and it’s a bit like flying First Class, cos once you’ve used one of their handmade knives or scissors, things will never be the same for you again. Those handmade sewing scissors have ruined me forever!
