Walking on Daisies

This is me, just days before my birthday last week, big grin on my face as I take a selfie in a double-lane pedestrian crossing, freshly painted with a giant daisy pattern … designed by me!

🌼 What a way to turn 55! 🌼

This daisy-covered double road is the brand new intersection of St George’s Mall and Strand Street in central Cape Town. If you click the pic you’ll see incredible drone footage, filmed by Hloni Coleman.

There’s also a fabulous slideshow of the whole project, put together by Mission for Inner City, with the goal of prioritising and celebrating pedestrians, while adding joy to Cape Town’s inner city. Also, it’s such a great way recognise that an ordinary moment in the traffic can be a place for connection and delight!
