Mugspiration
On Friday, Lena Corwin posted this charming pic of vintage mugs on her shelves.
I’m such a copycat, I just couldn’t resist photographing my collection of vintage mugs over the weekend.
Actually, that Marimekko ripoff is not a vintage mug, and those teeny ones are, in fact, eggcups.
So in the interests of accuracy, here’s a mugshot (snigger) of each genuine vintage number:
Over the years, we’ve had many vintage mugs in our flat but some have collided with the floor and consequently lost a limb, and now must sadly serve a less glamorous function in my study. Enough of this – I’m supposed to be working! I have seven illustration deadlines this week, and a holiday on the horizon, and still I choose to spend hours blogging about mugs? Go figure.

Heather I think it‘s a glamorous function for a mug to hold your pencils and scissors! I love the white mug with the poppie(?) on it!

What else would be blog about, but vintage mugs and the like? I spend way too much time writing mine and reading other people’s blogs when I should be doing things like feeding the kids….

there’s a mug in the original pic…it’s a greeny-blah colour hiding a little in the white mug with people (?) on it…anyway, my father in law has the entire set, it was a wedding present. needless to say i have my beady eye on it…

So what was the give away? Does the stereotypical Australian not feed her kids??
By the way, I love the name of your blog.
My obstetrician is from Cape Town and whenever I went there for an examination I used to lay back and look at the photos of Cape Town on the walls. A bit of a variation on the lay back and think of England theme!! It looks like a beautiful city.

7 deadlines? Good luck, I hope they’re small ones.
Nice mug pics!

Thanks for all the comments!
Oh, and Stacey, I could tell you were an Aussie by three things – the sheep ref in your blog title, the time of day that you posted your comment, and by the marvellously irreverent attitude towards the kids. You Aussies – you’re all the same!
