    March Making Friday

    Making Friday 15 March

    18 Mar 2013

What a treat! After a good couple of months of being a slave to my To Do list, Friday was blissfully under-scheduled, so I dusted off my sewing machine, and starting making stuff JUST FOR FUN, cos it’s Making Friday!

Sometimes it takes a while to ease into the joys of making, so I started by bar-graphing my button jar. Yellow buttons are in the lead! (does that make them the most, or the least popular colour button? Hmm)

Then out with the scissors and the offcut fabric, and the complete lack of interest in making anything of any use or connection to my work. Hoorah!

I ended up with a kind of babushka with flowers for cheeks, and a slightly odd-looking bunny in a bag, which was sent to cheer up a little girl who ate too much soap. Really, she did. She ended up in hospital.

Kids, if you’re reading this, please note that this is the last bunny in a bag I am sending to a soap-eating kid. Leave the soap alone.

Making Friday is such a great start to a weekend, and also something to look forward to at the end of the week. Highly recommended.

The bunny in a bag makes me suddenly nostalgic, reminding me of a elephant my great-grandmother made me when I was still a teeny-tiny.

Oooo, now I’m wondering who the soap eater was … LOVE that little babushka baby. SO envious of your Making Fridays!

Soap eater was Elethu – Belinda’s little girl. I still can’t get to the bottom of it. Kids are nutcases! xx

The bunny is the cutest thing ever – almost makes me want to eat soap to get my hands on one… 😉

I hope the little soap eater will be all right (I won’t judge, I used to love eating chalk when I was little). I just watched your interview and it was lovely to hear your voice (now your Instagram pictures will have a voice :)), and learn more about the story of Skinny Laminx!

She’s fine, and hopefully will be steering clear of the soap (and chalk) in future. Thanks for the kind words, and nice to find you here as well as on Instagram. Off to take a look at your blog now.
