    Nearly there…

    11 Feb 2009

I won’t say it’s top secret, but I have been keeping it under my hat for a while, mostly because I can hardly believe it’s true: I started the year by taking the plunge into getting running metres printed. So I’ve been ordering miles of basecloth, and spending a horrible amount of money to finally get my long-beloved Sevilla Rock Range printed up.

These designs, of which Herds is one, are the first fabric designs I ever did, and are all based on rock drawings from a place called Sevilla in the Cederberg mountains.

There’s not much to show yet, but I approved colours yesterday, and hope to see strikeoffs by the end of the week, at which point I’ll have to find somewhere to store all this stuff. Yikes! This professional printing on running metres thing is very exciting, but just a leeetle nerve- wracking too!

Congratulations! This is very big news, indeed. It’s definitely overwhelming to prepare and a huge investment, but it appears you’re geared up for a very nice launch. Yay for you! Your hard work will, no doubt, pay off.

Wow. pretty cool. I don’t think we have any smaller run professional printers here in the US. One has to be attached to an extra large company because the minimums are so huge. Someone please correct me if I’m wrong.

I’m in the US, but I’ll assume you mean you’re ordering in bulk/bolts/yards, etc? What will you do with the running metres once done? Sell by the metre or 1/2metre or just make stuff? I love the prints you are doing.
