Kamersvol is a full time job!

    22 Oct 2009

Kamersvol is a full time job!
I’ve gone all scarce again, and if you read Jesse‘s blog, you’ll find the same thing’s happened, and it’s because we’re afflicted with the same Kamervol Geskenke* bug. I’m packaging up things, building display units, cutting little tags etc etc, all to meet the Saturday delivery date for the market which opens on 28 October.

But really, it’s a lot more than a market: it’s a one-stop shopping heaven, well-curated, and slickly-run. Sellers don’t even need to be there, as the Kamers team does their magic, styling everything into a massive network of interleading “stores” at the beautiful deMorgenzon wine estate in Stellenbosch.

Click here for directions to Kamersvol, and then plan your week (starting Wednesday) to include a trip to the winelands to shop up a storm. See you there! http://www.kamersvol.com/html/home.php

*Kamersvol Geskenke means “Rooms full of gifts”

thank you for leaving a comment on my blog. i was more than happy to have contributed to the discussion. sometimes, it's necessary to point out something that people may not want to hear. because, unfortunately, and maybe fortunately, we all make the same mistakes but don't see it.i'm glad to have helped inspire a desire to make 3d objects. i'm sure you'll rise to the occasion! unfortunately, my rabbit was very much based on, if not a direct copy of, another artist's work. so sad i will not be able to sell anything i make of it. i did create my own pattern simply from looking at a photo of her work. i pat myself on the back for that as i'm no pattern-maker and i'm not a precise person. and while there are no laws against copying (in that sense), it's very much frowned upon. i've been trying to make my own pattern in keeping with the general look and feel and aesthetic of the original while making it my own work… but… it's been one failed attempt after another. again. not a pattern-maker. oh well. must keep trying!wish i could attend kamersvol but i'm kind of far away!
