I’ve been wearing spectacless since I was 8 years old, and must be onto my 10th or 12th pair of frames by now. One day, I rummaged through my drawers and found all the old frames I could lay my hands on, and turned them into a cut paper artwork, which was auctioned off at an event at Cape Town’s Book Lounge last year.
Now, encouraged by Charlene Walton, who bought the original, I have turned it into a silkscreen print called Eye Chart.
Eye Chart is printed in a deep near-black aubergine colour onto acid-free Hannemuhle paper in an edition of 45 signed prints. I have framed some of these, which are available for sale in my shop at 201 Bree St, Cape Town.
