Studio chaos!
This photo shows the one small corner of my studio that is not in utter chaos, and the only reason for this is that I’m sharing this particular corner with my food writer/stylist friend, Nikki Werner, who is a very calming influence around here, as well as a maker of good tea and bringer of treats.
The rest of the studio, however, looks like this right now:
Yes. It’s completely insane. Not only have I been shooting the new Skinny laMinx catalogue since returning from my US trip, we’ve also been getting all our new prints and other production in, and have had to build giant fabric storage units to accommodate it all. Yikes!
Space is short and props are many.
I am really, really, REALLY looking forward to sharing the new things we’ve been working on for the catalogue, but we’ve been so madly busy getting ready for Kamersvolgeskenke show at Lourensford Estate (starting 21 October! Be there!), that I’m still at the sampling stage of things and don’t have much to sell yet.
Anyhoo, all will soon be revealed, but in the meantime, scour these shots and, you may just spot a sneak peek in there.

oooh I love that last photo! so pretty.
As for the studio: I think the fact that I can still see bare table peeking out means that it’s still less insane than mine. Does that make you feel better?? π

Ha! It makes me feel a little bit better! xx

I LOVE that you’re showing your somewhat messy studio! I follow a few artists via their blogs and one person in particular has THE most tidy studio/home I’ve ever seen! Kinda scary! Your studio reflects a busy and creative person with a full life. Nice!
Cheers,
Kate

I know what you mean! I find some of those amazingly tidy homes and studios awfully intimidating… and hugely impressive! I’m afraid entropy follows me very closely… π

Looks messy but fun! Looking forward to the new catalogue!

Always on the lookout for wonderful, African design, I landed here today. I think I have to drop by more often. Kind regards, Yna from Germany.

Thanks for dropping in π

And thank you for being an excellent taste-tester of Stollen : ) Being at the studio for the arrival of each new Skinnylaminx design / range has been very exciting. I’ll miss you next week and have no doubt it will feel very empty and stark without all those lovely Skinnylaminx items that are going with you to Kamers!

I love your chaos!

Oh and Heather where can I find a coat/hat rack thing like the colorful one you are showing?
