    Teaching in Jaipur

    27 Jan 2014

I’ve been keeping something under my hat for a couple of months, dying to spill the beans, and now that everything’s in place, I’m so excited to to let you know about….

    27-Ace-Camps1

Yup, this October, I’ll be heading off to Jaipur in India to teach on a Ritchie Ace Camps 8-day block printing tour. I’m so excited!

Ritchie Ace Camps is an organisation, run by Angela Ritchie, that puts together intensive experiential creative workshops all over the world. The website says: ‘Ace Camps are vacations where you learn from the best, the most popular, and the most interesting and creative leaders’.

On this 8-day Ace Camp, participants will stay in a beautiful hotel in the “Pink City” of Jaipur, going out daily to visit Indian block-printing studios in the city, learning about traditional carving and hand block printing, learning from generations-old artisans about the traditions of their craft.

We’ll also visit the Anokhi Museum of Hand Printing, and spend time in the private atelier of Brigitte Singh – one of the finest block printers in the world.

Then, having been inspired by everything we’ve seen and learned, participants get the opportunity to learn and practice some hands-on skills and techniques of printing and pattern design in a three day printing workshop.

Spaces are limited to just 12 people, and registration opens this Friday, 27 January. Visit the Ritchie Ace Camps website to read about the Block Printing Tour in more detail.

    Hope to see you there!

Wow Heather! that sounds incredible! We are planning to be in Cambodia in October visiting a friend who works there. Just 3,500km as the crow flies from Jaipur. Would love to meet up again in a foreign city like Tokyo last year.
