FLOURISH is here to celebrate our tangled, buzzing, burgeoning natural world, fizzing with life, variety and vigour.
This design is a call to put aside futuristic dreams of Mars and AI, and to fall back in love with the beauty, wonder and delight that our planet offers us in abundance.
The word Flourish describes a state of thriving and blooming – a kind of ideal state to which humans aspire..
Botanist and author Robin Wall Kimmerer reminds us, however, that humans can’t thrive in isolation: “All flourishing is mutual”, she says, because the wellbeing of our natural and social systems is crucial to our own.
Look closely at the FLOURISH print? Do you see the little bugs and insects zooming about? They’re part of the design as a reminder that we can’t have flowers without the insects.
Fact is, our world is such a mess because we’ve forgotten that everything is connected. Deeply! People, animals, plants, air, soil, politics, energy… everything!
So how do we flourish together?
The place to start is by opening our eyes to the extravagant, delightful beauty that our planet offers us. It’s everywhere! Then, when our hearts truly value our infinite connection with all living beings and living systems, everything changes.
