Making Friday 11 Feb

While photographing my Cloudbirds fabric yesterday, I got all excited about different colour combinations, and particularly liked this Goldfinch/Dove/Blackboard combo.

So today for Making Friday today I got stuck straight in. I honestly didn’t know what I was going to do when I sliced into my fabric and started stitching some bits together, but soon enough a plan to make some kind of bag took shape. After a few false starts and unpickings, I eventually found myself making this sturdy laundry bag that I’m rather pleased with.

There’s a long adjustable strap, and a cord pull with a toggle, as well as a pocket in the side to put your keys in on the way to the laundry. I lined it too, with calico, which may be a bit of overkill, but that feeling of turning a bag inside out and it all just suddenly looks like a beautiful lined bag was too tempting to resist on this treat of a Making Day!

Happy weekend, everyone! See you at the Biscuit Mill market on Saturday.

  • Gorgeous! It would make a great beach bag. I don’t think lining’s overkill at all, either.

  • LOVE the new bag – what a great use for your wonderful fabric. I think I’d actually want to DO laundry if I had a bag like that… :-)
