It’s a big day today, as we have our press launch of the Rough Cuts fabric collection this evening.

We’re billing Rough Cuts as “a collection inspired by Scandinavian style, but perfectly at home in Africa”. This is because, while I designed it in my usual clean, simple style, when I teamed it up with Binky Newman’s woven vessels (see my post here), I was blown away at what a perfect match they made. As I’m a fourth generation South African, so of course my roots are on this continent, but I must say,it’s nice to see them showing

PS: One thing I’m so thrilled about the launch tonight is that it is such a Bree Street affair: we’ll be 100m from the Skinny laMinx shop, in the Rivets and Rockets workshop at 152 Bree St, with catering by Cafe Frank, barely a hop away. Love me some good neighbours!
And in that vein, the very dear Robert Sherwood must be mentioned, for his kindness at insisting that I put some Rough Cuts cushions in his beautiful shop tonight, as people will see them on the way to the launch. So nice!

Congratulations Heather, it’s going to be a good ‘un x
