Up, Up & Away!
Those super-prolific gals at Cloud9 Fabrics have just returned from Quilt Market in Porland, OR, where they did a big reveal of their exciting new print collections, so I’m super-thrilled to finally be able to share my latest collection for Cloud9’s Designer Series, called Up, Up & Away!
In my 2011 Cut Out & Keep collection, the Free as a Bird print (see above) was a massive hit, and sold out in a trice. Ever since, we’d been plotting to bring it back, and what better way than to build a whole collection around it? Here are the coordinate prints in the dark red colourway:
I love working with Michelle Benksco – creative director at Cloud9 Fabrics – who, wth her business partner Gina Pantastico, works in New Jersey, NY. We seem to just ‘get’ one another, and I’m sure that is partly due to the fact we’ve managed to meet up and hang out a couple of times in the last few years. We work so well together, I’m almost embarrassed to tell you how quickly we managed to create this collection, despite our continental differences. Hope we get to do it again soon (maybe in Cape Town next time!)
