Making Friday: Dots agains doomscrolling

I really don’t like the fact that I find myself drawn towards my phone all the time, but I think it’s the crazy times we live in. There’s the constant temptation to check out what new disaster has befallen the world… or maybe a puppy has made best friends with a duck!

To help me stay off my phone when I feel the impulse nag, I’ve started keeping one of our blank page notebooks at hand and instead of endlessly, boringly scrolling, I’ve been drawing dots and spot.

Making one shape, using many materials, page after page after page, makes for a compellingly immersive (and satisfyingly wholesome) distraction from doomscrolling.

Lines work too 🙂
