Good neighbours
This time last year, we had appalling neighbours. I can’t even talk about them without shaking, even though they left a good (fantastic!) six months ago. Now Paul and I know to appreciate a good neighbour when one comes along.
In our street, there’s a guy called Japie, who seems to spend a lot of his time waving at us as he drives past in his truck with his Weimeraner dog in the back. I’ve always wondered what he does for a living, and on Friday evening we found out when he unexpectedly rang our bell…
Japie has a West Coast flower farm. It’s true! We have a bucketful of proteas as evidence. And better than the flowers, we have a gem of a neighbour. Thanks, Japie!

I love the name Japie! I tried unsuccessfully to get my sister name her daughter Japie- I thought it would be nicely unconventional. -X

Lovely. I’m sure I’ve said it before, but your home looks great. When can we expect your d*s sneak peek, huh?

They are beautiful flowers. Good neighbours are definitely better than bad ones, especially when they bring lovely gifts.

African flowers are the best in the whole world. And I mean that from a country that has some amazing species. I would love a protea bush in my garden.

Oh, and our neighbours are good because they live 80% of their time in Papua New Guniea..very peaceful on that side of the fence.
