Tutorial: Bake yer own ceramics
I am so excited about this new product, because although I’ve been putting my transfers on ceramics for years, I’ve always had to find someone with a professional kiln to fire it at high temperature. Now I’ve discovered some special ceramics inks that allow you to fire things in your home oven. It’s ridiculously easy!
I’m selling these two different sheets of ceramics transfers. You’ll find them for sale here in US$, and here in ZAR. I also have them for sale in my shop at 201 Bree Street.
And once you have them, this is how you make your own decorated ceramics:
Please note: Although the ink manufacturers say that these transfers are dishwasher proof, they are sold as a DIY kit, so this is dependent on whether or not instructions are correctly followed.
UPDATE: I no longer sell ceramic transfers in my shop.

This is really cool.

Great tutorial and great transfers. I would like to buy some sheets. How can I place an order please? I’d like them sent to Australia. Thanks. Marika

Hi Heather,
Thanks so much for your tutorials they are so helpful and the products that you sell in your shop are gorgeous!
Where did you get your transfers printed if I may ask?

Thanks for your kind comments, Natalie. I’m sorry, although I willingly share information with colleagues and with people I know, I’m unable to share my supplier’s details with anybody who asks.

Hi, how would I know if a ceramic item has been glazed and fired?
skinnylaminx
Hi Natasha. If a ceramic surface is smooth and shiny it has been glazed and fired. Hope that helps?

Hurray Heather – these are gorgeous! I just happen to have some white mugs at home just waiting for your transfers:)
