    Changing rooms

    Changing Rooms
This picture is a very graphic illustration of how poorly stocked my Etsy shop is right now. I simply haven’t got around to updating it for ages, but I have at least one good excuse: I’ve been moving studios… but not very far.

This has been what my side of the studio has looked like for far too long. Way, waaaay too small for all my stuff. So when studiomate Nike signed up for a Fine Arts diploma at Michaelis this year, I leaped at her spot, despite the fact that it’s separated from mine by another studiomate.
So now Medina has me trotting up and down through her space in my noisy Dr Scholls, but so far, she’s been very patient. And the good news is, I’ve got So Much More Space!

I’ve turned Nike’s old space (above) into a kind of storeroom/ packing room/showroom, and my old space (below) is just about work, with an amazingly luxuriously enormous worktable taking centre stage.

A lucky find on Gumtree (thanks, Thaya) scored me a wonderful 60s wall unit – perfect for showing off my goods, and I’ve also been buying cute chairs all over the place. It’s looking downright cosy now!

Sharp-eyed readers will notice a good few new prints on display here and there. Be assured, now that my studio’s in order, I’ll be updating my shop again soon!

That glider chair is amazing. It’s covered in one of your new prints, I think. I would like to try doing that — you should make a tutorial.

I also see some new pillows, etc.

      Lovely. I love it all.

You couldn’t convince your studio neighbour to swap a space? That way you could have your two spaces together.

Ah, see? Things worked out in your hunt for more space. I think it’s brilliant that you set up a lovely display area- quite inviting.
