Two questions about Skinny laMinx
Why the name?
People often ask, “What does the name Skinny laMinx mean?”
The answer involves a very beautiful creature (our little Siamese cat, Monkey). You can read more about her at this link.

Why the bird?
The second question people ask is: “If Skinny laMinx is named after a cat, why is there a bird in the Skinny laMinx logo?”
The short answer to this question is that I cut a bird from paper back in 2006 and thought it would make a great logo. And I was right!

The longer answer has to do with a much less popular and largely unappreciated creature: Columba Livia – the common pigeon.

Why a pigeon?
Skinny laMinx is all about noticing the beauty in the everyday. If we just pay attention and bring curiosity to the everyday, a world of wonder opens up, right before our eyes.
Wherever you are in the world, you’ll have seen a pigeon. They’re anonymous in their ubiquity, but if you look at them closely, or find out what they can do, chances are you’ll feel quite astonished.
I mean, look at that gleaming neck and this beautiful pigeon colour palette!

Pigeons are the perfect symbol of the possibility of magic, beauty and joy in the ordinary everyday, which is why we think it makes a great logo for Skinny laMinx.
Try looking differently at a pigeon (or anything you’ve seen 1000 times before) today. Can you see it?
