Keeping good company at Heath Ceramics

You know about Heath Ceramics, right? Across the San Francisco bay, in Sausalito, they’ve been designing and making ceramics since the 1950’s, continuing to produce a lot of the line of ceramics first designed by Heath Ceramics’ founder, Edith Heath, while also innovating and produce seasonal lines. It’s an awesome company.

 

About 5 years ago, when Heath Ceramics first started stocking Skinny laMinx tea towels and napkins, they asked me to design a graphic for their tote bag, which is still available for sale.
Every time I get a Heath Ceramics newsletter and I see what exciting projects they’re working on, and which extraordinary artisans they are now showcasing, I simply can’t believe my luck that Skinny laMinx goods are stocked alongside the likes of…

Doug Johnston – the maker of this Two Hump Basket (above). This tickles me particularly, because I visited Doug in his Brooklyn studio way back in 2012, and have loved watching the progress of his work on Instagram. Great to be sharing shelf space with this guy!
 

And for sheer textile gorgeousness, how about this Two Plus pillow by Christian Rathbone? I’m tempted to break the bank for this one.

Another friend from Instagram is the team at Garza Marfa, whose furniture and textiles Heath Ceramics has recently started stocking , like this gorgeous bench and cushions. This place is definitely on my ‘must visit’ list.

I love these ceramic house numbers designed by the very prolific type foundry, House Industries, and produced by Heath.

So, to be perfectly honest, I wrote this post not only to share the news about how fantastic Heath Ceramics is, it was also about how fab it makes me feel to know that Skinny laMinx keeps company with designers and goods that I hold in such high esteem. Thanks for the pat on the back, Heath!
