    Ercol at home

    19 Feb 2008

    Ercol at home
We’ve finally moved my “birthday present” home from Paul’s studio. There’s a temporary and rather worn covering on it for now, hiding the red velvet cushions until we get around to getting it covered properly. It really fits in well at home, and now all our furniture is about two inches off the floor. Sorry to visitors with creaky knees. By the way, does anyone know anything about why our daybed has six legs? Most Ercol daybeds have only four. Odd. Do I smell knockoff? Do I care?

This looks nice! I love all the cushions, but especially the white and orange one in the low chair.

Good choice, Janne! That’s from my favourite Etsy seller, Absoluut. She’s got the best vintage fabric cushions ever (apart from yours, of course)!

The Studio Couch was never made with more than 4 legs. You are right, who cares? It looks lovely. FYI: This is per the people at Ercol. I don’t like not knowing the answer to things, so I had to ask them for you. However, it looks just like one..maybe someone added the legs for support? I should have asked if they had a stamp somewhere or somehow to know if it is truly an Ercol..but again, who cares. Love your blog, love your Etsy store. I keep adding to my cart, then taking it out. Someday, I’ll do it. I will take the plunge!

Thanks for all the nice comments about our flat. We love it to bits!

jschwa: You are too sweet to go and ask Ercol about the 6 legs thing on my behalf! Thanks so much for this. I haven’t actually even looked for the Ercol stamp, probably because I bought the thing cos I like it, not cos of the investment value!
Thanks again – beyond the call of duty!
