Best Things: Rope walls
Sometime, things you see on the blogs just stick with you for ever, and this 2011 post from The Brick House is one of those. The rope wall in the blog post is superbly simple, so so effective as a non-solid room divider. I’m going to make sure that one day I have reason to follow the DIY instructions in the Brick House post and make one myself.
While I wait for that day, I thought I’d take a look around the web to see if there are other rope walls worth mentioning, and here are some that I spotted (although I still love the Brick House one best).

Macrame had to come into the picture, of course, so above is a macrame screen by macrame screen queen Sally England, and below is a gorgeous screened off banquette in a 60’s inspired Melbourne house by interior designer Mr Mitchell (via Houzz)
This rope divider by Aussie design studio Alwill Studio (via Remodelista) is similar to the Brick House one, but maybe a bit easier to achieve, with the use of dowels at top and base.
Let me know if you spot any other fab rope walls out there, won’t you? I’m off to go and make a rope wall in my shop window. Keep an eye on Instagram, where I’ll post the results (if I’m successful, that is!).
