Vida Nightbird

Maybe I’m flattering myself by thinking that anyone cares whether or not I post the pics I promised to yesterday, but just in case, here’s a crumb from my recent illustration history to mollify my loyal and exacting readers, until I can post the weekend market pics.

I made this cutout vinyl illustration for Vida e Caffe, a very cool coffee shop with very nice coffee! For the Design Indaba in February this year, they asked designers and illustrators to submit designs for limited edition coffee cup holders, and mine was one of those selected.
Initially, I wanted it to be black with the bird in black spot varnish, but that was too pricey to produce, so this was the compromise. I think it looks cute still.
