Milnerton Market
First, the facts:
Fact #1. Milnerton Market is not in Milnerton, it is in Paarden Eiland. It used to be in Milnerton until the residents’ association got snooty and moved it on.
Fact #2. Milnerton Market is a great way to see your friends. Elbow your deceptively sleepy-eyed bargain-hunting buddies aside as you sift through the used tupperware and defunct excercise machines, keeping an eagle eye out for that unwanted Le Creuset pot, that unappreciated Midwinter teaset, that Murano glass lampshade… Then toast your treasure-hunting success with pancakes and ginger beer from the cheerful Dutch lady in the caravan.
Fact #3. An alarmingly high proportion of our household items are from Milnerton Market, including all our le Creuset pots!.
And now, at last, the second in our series of Tshirts celebrating our favourite places in Cape Town, modelled patiently by Paul for pH design. This limited-edition shirt is for sale at the 2nd Annual T-shirt Show, currently on at What if the World in Hope Street.
Fact #4.
This shirt is actually sold with sleeves. Paul just has a penchant for sawing the sleeves off all his T-shirts.
Fact #5.
Not everything on our T-shirt came from Milnerton Market (shh, don’t tell).
Yzerfontein
Milnerton market must be one of the best stolen goods…oops I mean flea-markets in Cape Town.
