Cally’s cuts
This pic is here to provide the bones on which to hang the rest of this post. Appropriately, it’s called “Leaf Skeleton”. I cut it from matte black adhesive vinyl and linen-effect green paper.
But on to the real business of today’s post – paper cuts! I’ve been planning a marvellous and impressive post about them for ages, saving my links in a folder, but never quite getting around to putting it together.
So, while looking through the Cally Creates blog last week, I must admit to being most relieved to find that the indomitable Cally has beaten me to it. Now I can just link through to her impressive papercutting for your pleasure post on her blog.
Here’s one of the amazing things she’s found, by Artist April.
There are more astonishing finds in her post than most us can handle, but in case your weekend’s a rainy one, here are a couple of extras to add to Cally’s fine roundup of links to papercut wonderment.
Yu Rong’s lifesize cutouts (via Sprayglue)
Matthew Sporzynski’s paper constructions for Real Simple magazine (via Happy Mundane)
And, via Cally herself, the extraordinary work of Kako Ueda.
Have a great weekend!

Beautiful! I found your blog today, so nice to find a South African blog. When I lived in Malaysia one of my best friends were from South Africa. Now Iยดm baack in my home country, Sweden, since many years back. South Africa is on the top five-list for the places I want to visit. Have a nice weekend! ๐ Greetings from Sweden.

Great leaf, very 50’s, I always like 50’s lookin’ things.
Glad you enjoyed my links, I will do another when (if) I finally get the use of my own computer again, there are 100’s, maybe 1000’s in there.

Cally’s list is great, as were your additions. And, I recently started stencilling and cutting out designs thanks to seeing some of your pieces! Nothing “post-worthy” just yet, but wanted to say thanks.

Your leaf looks amazing. And thanks for sharing about Artist April. I really enjoy her work too. It’s so intricate, I don’t think i’d ever have the patience to make anything like that.
