Bersa plates tempting me…
Bersa plates tempting me…
They’re up for auction from Danish eBay sellers ZielZiel. Will they survive the trip to South Africa? Can I really fit any more crockery into my house? Sigh. I do want ’em, and it doesn’t seem that blogging them is working as an effective displacement activity…

oh they are so beautiful… I want you to have them too now!

I’m a big fan of the Bersa pattern too. I have a couple of Bersa egg cups – they’re very old and a bit chipped, but I love them. And I don’t even eat eggs!
How are your experiments with transferring patterns onto ceramics going? I meant to leave a comment about that saying that I for one would love to start collecting Skinny LaMinx crockery!

Why don’t you make your own, Heather? Can’t be that difficult for someone with your talents.
orange you lucky!
Boy, am I ever familiar with this dilemma! They are beautiful. It’s almost never a question of need for me. It WANT! I bet you already got lots of beautiful stuff.
My dad says, if you wake up in the morning and you don’t want anything – you are dead. I’ll go with human nature and get them (to avoid regret:)

They WILL survive the trip. I thought these were a bit on the expensive side, but maybe not. Have you tried tradera.se (Swedish ebay)? http://www.tradera.com/search/result.aspx?search=bers%E5&search_category=-1&x=0&y=0
Most Swedish people know English, so send the seller a mail if you see something you like, and ask if they’ll be OK shipping to you.

sooooo cooool. It’d be a shame if it wouldn’t survive the trip wouldn’t it…but i guess it should be fine if it’s packed well…

Hey guys, thanks for all the comments. You know what, I decided not to get them. I actually quite like wanting something that I can’t have (not yet anyway) – that way they remain treasure for me. One day I’ll find them under my nose and then my treasure hunt will be complete. Maybe one of you should get ’em?
Oh, and thanks for the tip, Janne. I’ll check it out.
Zee, I’m picking up ceramics transfers tomorrow, and hope to soon have something to show. Very exciting stuff!
Cheers,
Heather

I hear you! You’d think it would make the cravings go away but there is nothing like holding stuff in your hand! Go for it. Tracey

I LOVE these!

“BersÃ¥” ( the name of the pattern, which you problably know), is great! I seen skandinavian china in the shop selling second hand china in Kalk Bay. Actually it was Arabia, a finnish brand. That´s why I remember – and Kalk Bay is one of my favourite places.
Love your blog.
