Sunshine snaps
Here’s quick peek at some of the fruits of my first two weeks of unemployment. Of course, I’ve been making paper cutouts (see above). It’s such an treat to be able to start and finish a cutout in the same day! I’ve been doing far too much at high speed for so long that I’d forgotten what it was like to just muck about.
Next thing I’ve been mucking with is as a result of my studiomate Medina’s urgings. I throw all my cotton scraps into a box, and Medina uses these to clean her paint brushes, but it makes her feel so guilty to waste all this beautiful fabric. So I stitched it all together in a kind of funny quilt.
Oh, and oops, I’m not supposed to show you this yet, but my camera slipped while I was photographing my Kirin swap. These are off to Rooms on View in Joburg next week. I’ll show you more of them once the show gets going.

Oh righteous, did you make those plates?! I so hope that you did (it looks like your work) because I’m going to HAVE to have some – they are absolutely wonderful Heather!

Ooh, you jumped the gun! I might have to experience similar camera slippage… 😉
The fabric looks lovely stitched together like that! And talk about coincidence – I spent all morning sewing scraps together.

I’m dying to show you all the plates I’ve made for Rooms on View, but must wait a bit longer. I’m not sure how many will come back from the show, so can’t be sure if I’ll be selling them in my shop. Check back in in June for an update.
