New cabinet
New cabinetWhen I was a kid, I played the piano all the time, and my parents kindly let me have the family piano in my own home. But I never play it here, and so eventually decided it was time to let my brother and his young daughter enjoy it instead.
In the piano’s place, some much-needed storage space has arrived, in the shape of a gorgeous 60’s teak cabinet, found at Karizma on Sir Lowry Road.
Nanook helped me line the drawers with the Orky Kily wrapping paper I’ve been hoarding. (Yup, that is spelled right. Follow the link…).
On a side note: Two of my studio mates recently took a look at my blog. One said that she thought it was so “intimate”, and the other said she thought I had set very clear boundaries. Who knows what the truth is – it’s not easy to assess objectively – but I guess showing the inside of my underwear drawers to hundreds of strangers could be… ok, is definitely… erring on the side of intimacy. Oops.

well, it’s intimate now you’ve told us they are undies drawers! before, we were just imagining craft materials in there!
i think your blog is perfectly balanced…mostly work and inspiration, with some personal (but not too personal) stuff thrown in. i am still trying to let go a bit more!

Haha! I thought there was something not quite right about those leaves… Looks great in your drawers, though!
As long as you’re not actually displaying your underwear it’s not too intimate.

love the cabinet! and the idea of wrapping paper in the drawers! why bother with the mess of contact paper anyway? what a brilliant idea, right when i have 21 drawers to line. 🙂 for the kitchen, not for my underwear. 😉

They are definitely the best lined undies drawers I’ve seen on a blog!
