How to grow a Mini Skinny in 5 easy steps
How to grow a Mini Skinny in 5 easy steps
Here’s the recipe for how to grow a little shop within a shop in almost no time at all.
Step 1
Take one energetic lady with a bright idea, and add a funny old 50’s kitchen cabinet that her family can’t stand (see above).
Step 2
Get the cabinet painted cream, and let one tea towel designer know that you have plans that require her cooperation. She’ll respond with enthusiasm, of course.
Step 3
Invite said tea towel designer up your very steep driveway on a Sunday morning to apply decals to the now respectable-looking cabinet. Serve tea and peanut-butter cookies, and throw in a pair of clogs.
Step 4
Add light rope and a brisk cleaning.
Step 5
Cart cabinet into your gorgeous shop and get tea towel designer to add products. Throw in one shopkeeper extraordinaire, and voila!
Isn’t it adorable? The energetic lady who followed this recipe step-by-zippy-step is the fabulous and generous Adri Schutz of Mielie . The Mielie shop can be (must be!) visited at Montebello Design Centre (pic below).
I’m so excited about the Mini Skinny shop, and soon will have it overflowing with my bits and pieces. Thanks, Adri (and thanks for the clogs too)!
