Following up on three things
Three things to share, with regard to recent posts and your comments thereupon, dear readers:
Firstly, after showing my weekend pics in Kleinbaai, lots of people commented on how they love sea urchin shells, so I scratched around to find a few sea urchin things on Etsy. First up, this electroformed copper sea urchin by Shannon Amidon.
Also, I spotted lots of sea urchin jewellery from Star of the East. It’s a bit baroque for me, but it might suit your style.
And I’m pleased to say that no urchins were harmed during the making of this one: it’s a lovely Urchin photographic print by Alicia Bock.
That’s the urchins done. The second thing concerns my lovely little zebra from Nuno. One of the readers of this blog let me know that she’d spotted (striped?) one of his brothers at Pipsqueak Chapeau. (thanks for the tip, Karen!)
There’s a crocodile too!
And thirdly, no decision has yet been made on the studio. Yes, I’m a wuss. A wavering, tentative wuss. Your overwhelmingly positive yells of “GO FOR IT!!!” see my hand heading for the phone to make the call… and then I think about all the cool things I could make with the extra rental money. Ack! Driving myself crazy over here!
Happy weekend, all. See you at the Neighbourgoods Market.

well i didn’t comment on your original studio post but figure i’ll give me humble opinion now: i think your current studio looks cool! ok, the new one is super pretty, but maybe you just need a massive rearrange and a spot of decorating to fall in love with the one you’ve got all over again.

Teetering on decisions is paralyzing. I wouldn’t be able to make the choice easily either. As impulsive as I am, I’m not reckless and when money’s the issue, well, I can show lots of restraint. Let it sink in. It does sound good to have some cash flow to make more goodies, too. Perhaps it’s time to think about a business loan and you can do all of it at once! (I didn’t say that to make your choice more difficult)

We had a beautiful little sea urchin tealight holder from Thailand, but it broke when we shipped it to Cape Town! I may have to get to the beach to find a visual replacement… -X

Ah! That crocodile. I need it! Those felted creatures are so lovely and such a relief for the eye to see African animals for a change (makes a nice change from squirrels etc).

Good luck on making your studio decision Heather!
I wanted to let you know that I have created a new “artists who blog” site, giving the interviews their own space. All the interviews, old and new are posted, of course including yours:) Please drop by when you have a chance and let me know what you think.

I am often like you when it comes to decisions and can go around and around in circles. The last few years I have been like this with job decisions and also to give up my job (part time) and to go and do a BA in Fine Art full time. I can hover over the phone at least 50 times before I pick it up and do what I know I should do but am too scared to do it or fear I might fail. One of the best books I have read is ‘Feel the Fear and do it Anyway’. Doesn’t stop you feeling scared though! Hope you are able to come to a decsion soon.

I Hope you have a good weekend and were able to topple one way or the other on the decision front. Thank you for sharing the zebra and the crocodile – so cool!
