A hot, hot day
A hot, hot day
Saturday was such a hot, hot day, I took my cue from the cats and lay around doing very little indeed, although I did occasionally sit up to take a snap of our elegant beasts.
PS: The blogosphere’s a wonderful place! Thanks to a very kind note from Christina, who tells me that oriental lilies are toxic to cats (cat owners, check out the link she sent here), I’ve put those gorgeous lilies out of harm’s way. Thanks so much for taking the time to get in touch, Christina!

Your cats are gorgeous creatures! Hot weather, yes, I know about that. I live in Victoria (Australia)and it’s been so hot of late. 46.4 degrees on Saturday. Have you seen our news? 131 dead (and still counting) from bush fires over the weekend. It’s so incredibly sad 🙁

We’ve had snow, snow and more snow, it’s all nice but I think the UK is should definitely be promised a great summer!

relaxing is a great thing to do. when it’s hot. cold. and in between.
(and i accidentally read the last word with a ‘r’ in it. i cracked up. then realized my mistake. )

Wow, 46 degrees? That’s simply horrible. I haven’t been aware of your hectic weather, and so sad to hear about all the fires and deaths. Awful.
Leslie, you’re an odd beast yourself.

Beautiful cats and beautiful day couch too.

It’s very difficult to visualize the heat when it’s so chilly where I am. Somewhere between our worlds, there is a happy medium.
orange you lucky!
I’m with Michelle… It’s not easy to think of heat as it is mighty chilly over this side of the planet. But I’ll take your word for it:)
Cat’s are beautiful… and I had no idea oriental lilies were harmful in any way.

Heather, you’re very welcome! I always assumed that kitties had to eat a plant to get sick, until my sweet boy fell ill being around the pollen. My heart just sunk when I saw those flowers again … glad your little ones are OK. 🙂

I was heartbroken when I found out about the lilies last year. They’re my absolute favorite flower and I always had a bouquet in my bedroom. Luckily nothing ever came of it but now I’m too scared to bring them into the house. =( You kitties are GORGEOUS!

Where do you get your furniture? I love your sofa. Any Cape Town furniture tips you’d care to share? -X

Xander, we’ve taken years and years to pick up little bits of furniture here and there. One cool place that’s making lots of effort right now is Karizma on Sir Lowry Rd, just under the N2 bridge, heading out of town. Not cheap, but bargainable.
The sofa, on the other hand, was the luckyest find ever. Read the story here: http://thinkteam.co.za/skinnylaminx/2007/12/lucky-lucky-last-year-just-before-my.html
