A weekend in KwaZulu Natal
A weekend in KwaZulu Natal
Things grow like mad in KwaZulu Natal, and winter doesn’t look or feel like winter at all. The pavements in Durban were covered with lichens, wonderful mad bright flowers and enormous leaves, and also with people selling giant-sized avocados (or butter pears).
We had a good time indoors too, visiting Durban friends with great style (and a cute baby)…
… and we did the Saturday morning rounds of markets in Florida Road and Essenwood.
We also visited beautiful, misty Hilton and saw Paul’s parents’ lovely new place and the river that runs through the garden.
But best of all was the sight we saw in Pietermaritzburg: two of our beautiful nieces, both loyally kitted out in Skinny laMinx gear!

Lovely. I think the awesomeness of pennants cannot be overestimated.
