This week at the market
This week at the market
Paul and I had a good old wander around the Neighbourgoods Market on Saturday – a nice treat, as I’m usually there to sell my things and don’t get to see much at all!
We started out with a tropical asian breakfast of Ginger French Toast from those lovely guys at Piesang. I know Xander from his blog Primitive Culture, and it’s great to have him, Bordeaux, and their delicious food here in Cape Town.
We bought delicious fruit, flowers and veggies, and then went to see what was going on in the Designgoods tent.
The lovely Alexandra Hojer has lots of new things at her stall, including some fab menswear and gorgeously sexy mohair stockings.
We saw handmade shoes by my real-life neighbour Ninon.
Although I’m a vegetarian, I was overcome by hypocrisy at the Casamento stand, where I drooled over their set of six furry Hunter chairs.
There were more cute furry things at a brand new stall called Gwen Loves Harold. So sweet!
Then a stopoff at the amazing enamelled and cut jewellery at Skermunkil. They don’t have a website yet, but Marietjie has just started a blog about what she likes and you can see lots more pics of her work there.
I’ll be back at the Neighbourgoods Market next weekend, selling my things in the Designgoods tent. See you there!

What a fabulous market – I’m jealous. Ginger toast? Sounds scrumptious! How’s it made – fresh or ground ginger like with cinnamon toast?
orange you lucky!
No market like this nowhere near me:(
Looks great! I especially love the furry bunny hat dude:)

Ginger french toast is like ordinary french toast, but it had candied ginger sprinkled on it, pieces of banana, as well as a ginger syrup. I think the boys made it up themselves, inspired by something they enjoyed in Vietnam. Yummy.

Ooh! I’m getting some of those stockings asap….

Oh, I must make a plan to go there again – but it always seems such a trek from Simon’s Town, and the parking! Maybe I should just be a little less lazy and get up earlier!
