Critical Mass
Critical Mass
Whichever way you like to look at it…
…bicycles make a lot of sense, especially when they’re as cute as mine is.
Capetonians, come and join the rest of us at the Cape Town Critical Mass ride on Friday morning. Here’s all you need to know from Gavin, who is drumming up support:
“Right folks, summer is on the way, the entire transport industry keeps alternating their strike patterns so the roads are congested and the “public” transport system doesn’t work anymore, all of this adds up to the fact that joining us for Critical Mass is the only logical step to take this Friday, in fact it’s the right thing to do!
You all know the CM deal by now I’m sure but just to recap: happens worldwide, last Friday of the month, promotes commuting, huge following (hence the mass part), it’s not a training ride, it’s a cool way to get around town and hook up with a few other cool people. Dust off the old bikes, build up a fixie, make a tall bike, what you ride doesn’t matter, what you wear matters even less.
The route:
06:45 – leave from the Baxter Theatre at 06:45, travelling to town using Lower Main Road
07:15 – meet up with the town side crew outside the CTICC
Then a quick trip through the V&A circling all the traffic circles on the way and out to Glengarriff road, where we head back along Green/Mouille Point Main rd and stop for coffee generally at Vida, due to a lack of options.
From here we disperse to our various jobs and continue about our day feeling happy, and generally better than those around us, I’m sure there’s a clinical disorder based on this feeling.
See you all this Friday morning then. Start your day with a Hell Yeah!”

When at Vida remember to remove your helmet – otherwise that 2oceansvive gets so upset.. 😉 Enjoy – not going to make it this time.

It's not a long ride, Lulacat! It's flat and scenic to boot. Next time, ok? When you have a bike.
