Old books
I bought these two books at Folio in Rondebosch a few weeks ago, and they really are treasures. Modern French Interiors was published by Thames and Hudson in 1958, and Decorative Art: The Studio Year Book 1955-56 was published by The Studio Publications. They’re both absolute feasts for geeks like me.

Ooh, where's Folio? It looks like a good place.

Ohhh, I love these. Thank you for posting them! What's interesting is that these images look very modern to my eyes – D*S regularly features interiors with that lovely 50s style, for example. I have vases and other ceramics with very similar shapes in my house, and even the bird motifs look very familiar. I think it's fascinating how styles loop round in circles and come back into fashion.
