A bit Grinchy?
I do like Christmas. Really, I wouldn’t say I’m a Grinch, but I’m not crazy about cluttering up the place with Christmas decorations. The only thing we had was an amazing piece of intricate crochet – a gift from Jesse – festooned in a rather restrained manner on the shelves. Thanks, Jesse!
Also, a couple of cards helped create some Christmas cheer, and I grouped our star-shaped things together too.
Hmm, actually, that is a bit of a poor effort. Let’s see if I can do better next year, otherwise I’ll have to accept that I am a Grinch after all.

Bah Humbug! I too went minimal this year. It’s quite liberating.

I didn’t put up any decorations at home at all over Christmas, so you’re still doing fine!

Hi Tracy
Just took a look at your Posterous site, and really enjoyed what you’re posting about. I was wondering if you’d like to write a guest post on the Elle Decoration blog about things nice and green. Those toilet paper roll trees, the Christmas decs and the Banksy artwork are all wonderful. It could be somehting that gives your concerns and your site a bit of publicity, while giving our readers some feel good (and do good) eye candy at the same time.
Let me know if you’re keen. I know this is a bit out of the blue, so if it horrifies you, please don’t feel obliged!
Best, Heather

Typically I like to put it all away on Jan 1st, but I had to extend my Christmas decorations time to celebrate with my dad this past Monday night. I’m so over it… haven’t even watered the tree since the 25th. Wouldn’t you know it though, it still looks great. Thinking I’ll pack it all up tonight though and regain my space.

Ah, now I understand why you were tweeting about your bowling ball. A late Christmas present must have been such a treat.
I’m loving the WordPress comments feature, by the way. You know how terrible I am at responding to comments, but WordPress allows for emails to be visible, so it’s super easy. Now let’s see if I miss my old excuse for not replying to comments.
Happy packing tonight, xx

I love when the decorations are out, and then I love it when they’re put away again! A bit of Christmas clutter helps to make the place feel extra uncluttered, I think, once the decor is gone.

Good point, Jenny. I’ll give the cluttered approach a bash next year. Problem is, my mom does such a brilliant Christmas, my standards are way too high, and a crumby bit of tinsel here and there won’t cut it! Ah well, there’s a whole year to plan ahead (if you’re Martha Stewart, maybe!).
Thanks for your comment, Heather
Jesse
Looks perfectly decorated for hot weather!

I went minimal because I wasn’t going to be around my house, but I don’t like a lot of clutter. I just packed all my decor away into 3 Christmas Colored Totes and one ornanment box – was able to recycle about 15 cardboard boxes – I love to unclutter. I have so much more to do. Seems neverending.

You are not a Grinch… you are a Christmas minimalist… and that’s just great!

Yes that’s it. I’m going to embrace my inner Christmas Minimalist!
