Modest shopper
Considering all the amazing stores I’ve set foot in since we arrived here two weeks ago, I’ve been a pretty modest shopper. I’ve bought jeans, shoes, a skirt, a scarf and a top, and a couple of lovely knick knacks, to wit:
Adorable little cast iron birdie from Jonathan Adler.
A super sharp, super cheap pair of snips from Pearl Trading, to help with my embroidery.
Letterpressed cards from Greenwich Letterpress (blogged about here)
And that’s just about all. Oh, um, except for… the bicycle. Lots more about that to follow.

Did you like Pearl Market? I always get lost in there looking at the small affordable things I don’t need, but wonder if I should buy them anyway.
The bird is the perfect little memento! It must have a nice heft to it. Such a handsome fellow.

I loved Pearl Market. I was especially taken with all the beautiful Japanese ceramics – little beakers and mugs and things… yummy. May return there soon, but in the meantime, trying to be very circumspect about what I’m buying. Love my little birdie though! xx

Love the bike, Matches Paul’s custom built steed beautifuly – a more voluptuous mare for his sleek and wiry thoroughbred. Was that your solution to the dodgy knees?
Hope you have massive NYC locks for your bikes. i hear bike theft is very common.

Thanks Athol! I do like my bike, but after a rather iffy ride through Times Square I’m finding myself a little tentative about heading out. You must have been very inspired by the incredible bike infrastructure when you were here? Hope you get to institute some of it in Brisbane. xx
