Making Friday 24 September 2010
I love a public holiday. Somehow I seem to have my best working days when everyone else is out having fun. Today was a good one, spent in my studio, where I got a few things done, such as:
1. I found a way of using the selvedges cut off my fabrics. Just a zap with the overlocker, and voila! I have packaging for a wholesale apron order.
2. I spent some time gazing at a gauzy curtain, thinking about how many shades of white there are.
3. I looked at my studio through the gauzy curtain too, which looked kind of romantic, as I couldn’t see all the stuff that needs sweeping up.
4. After this dreamy interlude, I came to my senses and entered a frenzied period of sorting and cutting and cleaning and fixing, wherein I started a batch of ScrapEeps! and took product shots (up next week).
Altogether, a most satisfying Making Friday. Hope yours was good too.

I love the ribbons! I was looking for a way to make ribbons out of my printed fabrics but didn’t know what to do with the cut/frayed edges. This is really cool.
