The Creamery
I took a break last week from all the mad shop/studio fitting to visit a wonderful new business in Cape Town, called The Creamery, where they make ice cream. But this isn’t run-of-the-mill cone filler: This ice cream is made from scratch, using locally sourced ingredients from family farms in the Western Cape, using seasonal fruits and berries. And not only is it fair glowing with good vibes, ice cream from The Creamery is utterly delicious.
The mastermind behind The Creamery, Kate Schrire, put together a tasting tray for us, allowing us to sample what they’d been making up recently. We made short work of Lavender Honey ice cream, Strawberry ice cream, Nectarine ice cream, Chocolate, Coffee, and my favourite of all: Ginger Ice Cream. Kate also told us we could, if we wanted to, join the Ice Cream Club, which is a soon-to-be-launched ice cream subscription service. Where do I sign up?
So keep an eye out for The Creamery ice cream in Cape Town. They don’t have any outlets yet, but will be doing pop up shops, appearing at markets and (very soon) be at my shop launch too. Hooray!
