Pinterest analogue-style
If you’ve been reading this blog, you’ll know I’ve been having a bit of a dilemma where Pinterest is concerned, so today I decided to go back to the way I used to collect images I love – using scissors and glue!
I’ve started five categorised scrapbooks into which I’ve started pasting exciting images I find in the magazines I still adore to buy (and am swimming in), all of which is far more relaxing and considered than the frenzied greed of image-collection that Pinterest sometimes evokes in me.
And what I really enjoyed (apart from the constant supply of tea, the heater at my knees, and occasional visits from Monkey) was the way my eyes woke up to my surroundings after a couple of hours of looking closely at beautiful homes and beautifully-styled scenes. I only had my RUBBISH Blackberry camera at hand, so please forgive these furry shots.

Perfect! I still have files for magazine pages, both interiors & fashion. I do intend, one day, to sort them into nice collections.

Been spending a rainy day in the UK doing just the same! Lovely home shots, I spy vintage cushions! xx

Hee hee, I also did this today. Determined to thin out the mag collection before we move and you’re right, there’s something so much more relaxing about scissors and paper and the richness of printed images then spending MORE time in front of the screen …

i think doing it manually probably makes you take more care, since it takes longer. i still have lots of elle deco files. but i wouldn’t know how to find anything! x

I do love the idea of getting away from the screen. Cutting and pasting is so relaxing! xoxo

i agree, i’m still a magazine fan and doing the cutting and collaging can’t be replaced! Maybe we’re just old school… like reading a real book 🙂 (Ps: you need an iphone) (PPS: iphone and instagram are dangerously addictive) xxx

I agree! cutting and pasting is still one of my favorite things to do.
Too much time in front of the screen is not good for the soul.
