    Making Friday: Something for nothing

    9 Nov 2012

Throwing away scraps of my fabric always tugs at my thrifty heartstrings, giving me pangs of guilt, so when I saw a basket full to brimming with long offcuts of my new Rough Diamond print, I grabbed a fistful. So pretty!

    Thing

Without a plan, I stitched them together, and now… well, I still have no plan, just a rather interesting-looking piece of fabric, and a pretty pile of sewing scraps. Does that count as a Making Friday?

Happy weekend everyone. It’s Summer Time!!!

The colors make it holiday proof, maybe some bunting? Or ribbons to use for packaging gifts? I’m sure you’ll find a great way to use them 😉

… and here I was thinking you were about to announce a new line of camera or guitar straps…

I see lots of potential for this little one!

Placemat. Floormat (add something to make it bulky for use as floormat?) Quilt top. Window treatment. Some kind of bag or storage container. Table runner, table cloth. Um, yeah. Lots of potential. 🙂

Just a bit of brainstorming on uses for this:
      tea cozy?
      funky hat?
      mini-backpack?
Whatever you decide it is sure to be fun!
      Cheers,
      Kate

Yes, a pretty pile of sewing scraps to you Heather, but so much more to a kitty cat, just leave them lying around and you’ll see…
