Babylonstoren treat
I just spent the morning at Babylonstoren with my WHOLE family (big family gathering this Christmas), finally getting around to doing their garden tour. What a treat! If you have an hour or so to spare, book yourself a tour (at no charge) and go.
Head gardener Liesl van der Walt took us all around the showing us vegetable rotations, tree graftings, companion plantings and fields of chamomile flowers for lying on. We picked berries, ate plums and peaches right off the tree, and lay down in said chamomile fields. It was fascinating, fun, and simply astonishing to go around this immense working garden and to see what has been accomplished since it opened two years ago. Babylonstoren, I am in awe!*
We ended the visit with delicious cordials and lemonade in the glass house, and I got to feed 5 little freckle-faced nieces forkfuls of my carrot cake. What a day!
*Just noting that I do some social media consulting for Babylonstoren, but that the opinions expressed here are utterly unsolicited. I love the place.
