Collaboration with Frazer Parfum
A few years ago, I was fortunate enough to work with Bree Street parfumer, Tammy Frazer, on the design of her Parfum Solide containers for Frazer Parfum. These were carved from blackwood, with my Protea cutout design on the front (see here), and were sold in Anthropologie stores.
Recently, along with ceramist Karen Kotze, Frazer Parfum has reworked the parfum solide container, this time in porcelain (see process pics here), and the results are gorgeous.
Of course, the contents remain the best of all. This is what Tammy says about her Namibia fragrance:
The perfume is reminiscent of the warm dry balmy clime. Golden and honeyed throughout, with a nutty caramel toffee note complimented by the local Mopane tree resin. There is an ester fatty note reminiscent of the butter fat traditionally used by the Himba women. The perfume composition is… light to start, warm throughout with a lasting amber trail.
The Namibia parfum solide by Frazer Parfum can be purchased in Cape Town at Merchants on Long, where the blackwood containers are also available on request. Find Frazer Parfum internationally at Harrods in London, and Annindriya Perfume Lounge in Amsterdam, and keep an eye out for their online shop.
